AGE gracefully not gruesomely. Who knows the definitive answer why Marlon Brando plunged from utmost physical beauty quickly over to the other side, but I have some good guesses… using he, who’s radically beautiful face and physique became older than his years due to intense over-oxidation. He must have had more free-radical activity than the the average Joe because at death he had been suffering for years from emotional torment (stress), diabetes (obese, sugared and pickled), congestive heart failure (obese, oxidatively damaged organ) and cancer (mutated cells, lack of good cellular repair). As a shockingly poignant example one can envision AGE happening, without being aware of its chemical complexities…but here’s a little reference anyway:
Advanced Glycation Entities (AGE) are the result of a chemical process in the body that happens when a poor lifestyle greets middle age. By poor lifestyle I refer to the SAD (Standard American Diet) high in bad fat, sugar, alcohol plus smoking meets low fruits, veggies, antioxidants, fibre and exercise. A top up of regular overdoses of sugar to the mix and …..ta da!! The result is a body full of free-radical/oxidative damage, in the long run. Beauty one decade, beast the next. These processes lead to wrinkles, large pores, nevi in the nose, blindness from cataracts, hardened fats clogging the arteries and smaller vessels leading to strokes and heart attacks and even cancer, of which, Marlon Brando, RIP…had them all.
